Steve Joyce is a 4th generation musician. He started playing drums and singing professionally at age 15. Originally from Kansas City, he toured with Tex Beneke and the Glenn Miller Orchestra and with Claude Thornhill. He has accompanied numerous headliners: Dennis Day, Frank Fontaine, Kaye Ballard, Dick Dale and the Harmonicats, to name a few. Featured for 4 years with Las Vegas showman / songwriter Freddy Powers, he recorded 2 albums, film tracks and travelled internationally. In 1970 he became part of the popular show group Dave Major & the Minors, recording 3 albums and performing to sold-out crowds, with regular appearances on radio and TV (including 2 CBS specials). Eventually settling in Chicago, Steve continued singing, recording commercials and jingles and playing all styles of music. He and his wife of 50 years now live in Springfield Mo, where he currently is a member of the Springfield Community Jazz Ensemble and the Sounds Pretty Good Combo.
